Overview

Ras Abu Soma is reachable in 15 minutes by speedboat from our base.
A slanting reef side lands on a sandy slope, littered by coral blocks, eventually dropping off into great depth. Further north, the shelf narrows down to a ledge ultimately giving way to a vertical wall. Here you can do an obvious drift dive.
Giant moray eels are often seen free swimming over the plateau and eagle rays sometimes pass by. On the reef slope you might find an octopus or cuttlefish. Numerous anemones protect families of clownfish all over the plateau. Big predators have been known to visit here, but don’t count on a shark encounter.
