Panorama Reef is, without exaggeration, one of the most spectacular and famous dive sites in the entire Red Sea. This enormous offshore reef truly lives up to its name, offering breathtaking panoramic views of sheer vertical walls that plummet hundreds of meters into the deep blue. For experienced divers, a trip to Panorama Reef is the absolute highlight of a Soma Bay diving holiday, delivering a powerful and awe-inspiring adventure.
The dive is always an exhilarating one-way drift. Depending on the day's currents, the dive begins on a deep plateau at either the north or south end of the reef, both of which are famous for their "anemone cities." The main event is drifting along the majestic eastern wall. This vertical garden is completely covered in a dense forest of giant gorgonian fan corals and a rainbow of pristine soft corals. You must keep your eyes scanning the blue for encounters with grey reef sharks, oceanic whitetips, eagle rays, and huge schools of tuna.
This is a challenging deep dive reserved for experienced . A certification is highly recommended to fully and safely appreciate the grandeur of this site. Similar in profile to the legendary , this dive represents the very best of the wild, open-ocean Red Sea.
