Salem Express
Salem Express is a full day trip especially for experienced divers. The wreck is on the depth between 12 m to 33 m. The length is 115m and the width is 17m. Salem Express is 3 hours and 20 minutes away by boat and located on the south east from Makadi Bay.
The Salem Express was a 100 m long a car and passenger ferry that sank after colliding with a reef in the midnight storm in the Red Sea on the December 17, 1991. The ferry operated between the ports of Safaga (Egypt) and Jeddan (Saudi Arabia). It was one of the greatest marine tragedies in the Red Sea given the fact that hundreds of pilgrims died in the ship while returning from Mecca.
At the hulk you will find several raspberry corals, huge soft corals at the smoke pipe as well as some sea needles and grouper.
