A Vertical Adventure on a Legendary Wall
The north face of Abu Ramada island presents one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring underwater landscapes in the region. This is a classic deep wall drift dive, reserved for experienced divers who are comfortable with depth and currents. The sheer vertical wall plummets into the deep blue, creating a humbling sense of scale and offering a fantastic chance to see large pelagic fish cruising in from the open ocean.
The Dive Plan and Experience
This dive is all about embracing the deep blue. The dive plan for Abu Ramada North is a one-way ticket along its magnificent wall. After descending to the reef edge at around 12-15 meters, you and your guide will "step off" into the void, letting the prevailing current guide your path. The key is to keep an eye half on the beautiful wall and half out into the blue, watching for hunting schools of tuna and barracuda.
The wall itself is a work of art, decorated with magnificent gorgonian sea fans that thrive in the current. This is an ideal dive to put your PADI Deep Diver training into practice, allowing you to comfortably and safely explore the most impressive sections. Due to the currents, a PADI Drift Diver certification is also highly recommended to make the most of this effortless flight. This dive is a mandatory adventure for anyone undertaking their Advanced Open Water Diver course with us.
