Ras Disha is a celebrated dive site in Makadi Bay, renowned for its unique and beautiful topography. The defining characteristic of this site is a magnificent, wide coral ledge that juts out from the main reef, creating a stunning underwater promenade. This feature, combined with vibrant marine life and typically calm conditions, makes Ras Disha a memorable and highly enjoyable dive for divers of every skill level, from novice to expert.

The Dive Plan and Experience
The dive at Ras Disha is usually conducted as a gentle one-way drift. After an easy descent, you will land directly on top of the spectacular coral ledge, which sits at an ideal multi-level depth between 12 and 15 meters. The plan is to spend the majority of your dive leisurely exploring this feature. The ledge is covered in incredible coral formations, most notably the intricate, branching structures of fire coral—be sure to look, but don't touch!

The edge of the ledge drops off into the deeper blue, and it's always worth taking a look below for a chance to spot a whitetip reef shark resting on the sand. The easy-to-navigate, multi-level profile makes this site fantastic for new PADI Open Water Divers, while the deeper sections offer a great environment for those completing their PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. Learning about the delicate corals here is a great application of the AWARE - Coral Reef Conservation specialty.
